security Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

Add an extra layer of security to your account using a Time-based One-Time Password (TOTP) authenticator app.

Why Enable 2FA?

Two-factor authentication protects your account even if your password is compromised. After entering your password, you'll also need a 6-digit code from your authenticator app to log in.

Setting Up 2FA

  1. 1 Go to Two-Factor Auth in the sidebar
  2. 2 Install an authenticator app if you don't have one (Google Authenticator, Authy, Microsoft Authenticator)
  3. 3 Scan the QR code displayed on screen with your authenticator app
  4. 4 Enter the 6-digit code from the app to verify setup
  5. 5 Save your backup codes — these are one-time codes you can use if you lose access to your authenticator app

Logging In with 2FA

Once enabled, the login process becomes:

  1. 1. Enter your email and password as usual
  2. 2. A second screen appears asking for your 6-digit TOTP code
  3. 3. Open your authenticator app, find the Benevofy entry, and enter the current code
  4. 4. If you've lost your authenticator, use one of your backup codes instead

Disabling 2FA

You can disable 2FA at any time from the Two-Factor Auth page. You'll need to enter a valid TOTP code to confirm the action.

Important: Store your backup codes in a safe place (e.g., a password manager). If you lose both your authenticator app and backup codes, you'll need to contact your admin to regain access.
